Changes to Appointment Types
Dear Patients,
In order to serve you better, we're making some changes to our appointment scheduling for established patients. We believe these updates will make your visits smoother and more predictable, while maintaining personalized care.
Our New Appointment Options
Standard Follow-Up Visits
Most of our follow-up appointments will now be scheduled in a standardized time slot.
We've set aside 50 minutes for these appointments
The fee will be $225
This gives us time to address your health concerns thoroughly and without being rushed.
Brief Medical Request Visits
Occasionally, you just need something brief, like:
Getting forms completed
Ordering routine or annual labs
Renewing prescriptions
Other short requests
Brief Medical Request Visits are designed to address specific tasks that can be handled in a shorter time frame. We set aside 20 minutes, and the fee is $125.
A note about annual appointments & lab orders: We - and our patients - love to have time to review labs together. Explaining your test results is one of our favorite parts of our job as doctors! If you would like to have labs done before an annual appointment, schedule a Brief Medical Request Visit first, so that your results are available for your follow-up visit.
The Reason for These Changes
Your feedback matters to us. We've heard that varying appointment lengths and unexpected charges were confusing. To address this, we're standardizing our appointment times to:
Keep your visits running on schedule
Avoid surprise bills
Provide you with a clear understanding of what to expect
Long-time patients will notice that we have eliminated the “30-minute” option. We were finding that 30 minutes was rarely enough time to address each person holistically, so these appointments often ran over. This appointment is no longer available to book online, but if you are an established patient and would like to schedule a “30-minute” appointment, just ask! We will keep this option available by request.
We appreciate your patience as we implement these changes.
Looking forward to seeing you at your next visit,
-Dr. Kate Miyagi & Dr. Mary Harel
